General Litigation Attorney

Prominent regional law firm seeks Associate Attorney to join its litigation team to handle depositions, motions, court appearances, and trial preparation. Applicant must have a minimum of 1-2 years of general litigation experience, including motion practice, discovery and trial preparation.

Candidate must be a highly organized team player with strong written and verbal communication skills. We are seeking a candidate that is able to work independently and be proactive with bringing matters to resolution and be a member in good standing of the a state bar.

 


Commercial Litigation Attorney

Woods Oviatt Gilman seeks a mid-level associate to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate has 4-6 years of experience with complex commercial litigation cases.  Applicant must be able to draft motions, pleadings, memoranda of law, and appellate briefs in state and federal courts as well as in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.  The ideal candidate is well versed in e-discovery procedures and experienced in conducting depositions.

Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills are required. Candidates must be highly responsive, have a strong work ethic, be committed to providing exceptional client service and top quality work product, and be a member in good standing of the state bar.

 


Corporate Attorney

Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP,  is searching for a Corporate Attorney to join its Buffalo Office. This attorney will be responsible for all facets of transactional work including M&A and counseling on entity formation and entity divestitures.

Candidates must have a minimum of five to nine years of experience in M&A and private equity. Transaction team candidate will be joining closes transactions throughout the country for a wide variety of clients including institutional private equity clients located in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, and operating companies located in Colorado, Texas, Florida, Toronto, and New York City.  Candidates should also have experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.  Experience in taxation and/or debt financing is also a plus. Qualified candidates should possess strong verbal, written and analytical skills, and be a member in good standing of the a state bar.

 


Patent Attorney

Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP,  is looking for a Patent Attorney to assist in preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  Strong writing and interpersonal skills are important.  Electrical Engineering degree required. Qualified candidates should possess strong verbal, written and analytical skills, and be a member in good standing of the a state bar.

Remote Attorney

Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP has an opening in is Default Services Department for an Associate Attorney to join our team in a remote capacity in the area covered in the 9th Judicial District (Westchester/Putnam/Orange/Rockland Counties). The position will require review of documents and regular court appearances for settlement conferences, status conferences, and motion oral argument. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment.

The Default Services Attorney will represent secured creditors, banks, and mortgage servicers in residential mortgage foreclosure actions. Our ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who is positive, team-oriented, and has strong organizational skills.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years prior foreclosure and court experience. Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills are required. Candidates must be highly responsive, have a strong work ethic, be committed to providing exceptional client service and top quality work product, and be a member in good standing of the state bar.
