Settlement Conference Clerk

The purpose of the Settlement Conference Department is to facilitate the loss mitigation process within the context of a foreclosure action.  The primary objective is to assist with gathering documentation and communicating with the borrower or his/her counsel in order to assist with rendering a determination regarding whether there is home retention options available to a borrower in order to forego the foreclosure process.  The Settlement Conference Department is responsible for calendaring of conferences, gathering documents, preparing files for the appearing attorney, and scheduling appearing attorneys. The Settlement Conference Team also handles post mediation loss mitigation and liquidation correspondence. Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and team lead at any given time. 

Legal Assistant


We are looking for a self-motivated Legal Assistant to join our Business/Tax team.  This position is responsible for supporting attorneys and paralegals by performing a variety of administrative duties, including drafting correspondence, answering phones, communicating with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.  Our ideal candidate must be a professional with a strong sense of discretion and experience working in a law firm.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with attorneys and paralegals with revising corporate forms and transactional documents
  • Cultivate and maintain an efficient documentation and filing system for corporate files
  • Utilize internet based resources to gather and synthesize information on various types of business organizations, including obtaining copies of corporate filings
  • Work with accounting and attorneys to ensure a smooth closing process, including processing payment of invoices and coordination of incoming and outgoing wires
  • Open new files, request conflict of interest checks, and maintain (including indexing and organizing) client and general files
  • Maintain and update corporate minute books and stock records for various business entities
  • Prepare correspondence and other legal documents from written or verbal instruction
  • Draft indexes and assemble electronic binders for closing of business transactions; assemble binders for business entity formations
  • Log attorneys’ time for billing purposes and work with accounting to generate bills
  • Provide admin support such as transcribing dictation, maintaining calendars, setting up meetings, coordinate courier deliveries, and filing
  • Assist with overflow projects/assignments such as filing, photocopying, scanning, or reception relief and perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor.


  • 1-3 years prior law firm administrative assistant experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Default Services QC Title Clerk

The title Clerk is responsible for ensuring all required documents are uploaded to Worldox for the First Legal Clerk to draft the Notice of Pendency, Summons and Complaint. The Clerk performs a review of demand and state mandated notices to confirm compliance. A full title review of the foreclosure certificate is completed and any missing documents and title issues identified. Daily correspondence with clients, attorneys and peers via e-mail, phone and client systems are a major responsibility in this position. Constant updating of the client and case management system is required. Adherence to client SLAs. Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and team lead at any given time.

Qualified candidates should have experience with title clearance, deeds, mortgages and loan modifications. Knowledge of summons and complaints and familiarity with foreclosure certificates, title policies and title abstracts.
