Billing Clerk-Default Services

 

Summary

The role of the billing clerk is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all default services related billing and invoicing with a variety of responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position will possess accounting experience or accounts payable experience. This is a vital role in our firm and the applicant must be well organized, with excellent time management skills and be able to perform a variety of accounting and financial duties. This is a temporary position with the ability to become permanent.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum of an associate's degree in accounting or a related field.

Required knowledge and experience: Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, as well as Adobe or PDFDocs. Document Management software experience is also preferred. General knowledge of billing and accounting preferred.

Core Competencies: Dependability, attention to detail, good spelling, ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to produce a professional work-product with minimal errors, ability to work independently, with little or no direction, to multi-task, prioritize and problem-solve, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, and good time management skills.

Recording Coordinator Clerk-Default Services

 

Summary:

The Recording Coordinator Clerk is responsible for overseeing that the commencement of the foreclosure action is proper and timely. The Clerk coordinates the recordation of the Lis Pendens and filing of the Summons, Complaint and Certificate of Merit. Daily correspondence with clients, attorneys and vendors will take place via fax, e-mail, letter, and phone. In addition the Clerk will draft and mail 3215 affidavits. Constant updating of the client and case management system is required. Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and team lead at any given time. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Associates Degree and/or High School Diploma with commensurate administrative work experience.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, as well as Adobe or PDFDocs. Document Management software experience is also preferred. General knowledge of the foreclosure process a plus. Knowledge of NY foreclosure mediations process. Experience preparing mediation loans for upcoming appearances. Experience in processing appearance results.

Administrative Assistant-Floater

 

Summary:

The administrative assistant is responsible for preparing correspondence, memorandum and other legal documents from written or verbal instruction; photo copying/scanning documents, opening and processing incoming mail. Duties also include receiving clients and visitors while maintaining a high sense of confidentiality, assembling documents for filing with the court and service on opposing counsel/clients, inputting attorney time into accounting programs for billing purposes and assisting with overflow projects as requested by attorneys or the Human Resources Director.  

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Associates Degree and/or High School Diploma with commensurate administrative work experience.

Required Knowledge and Experience: This position requires at least one year of legal secretarial experience in a law firm setting. In addition, applicants must type a minimum of 60 wpm; have experience with transcription and familiarity with the legal system, i.e. how to file documents with the various courts, i.e. Federal, State and Appellate Division; and working knowledge of legal terms. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, as well as Adobe or PDFDocs.
